RichRod back to the Big East?

I'm baaaaaaaaack???

While this is nothing but speculation, the news that Rich Rodriguez has been fired by Michigan makes you wonder whether he would be considered as a serious candidate at either Pitt or UConn.

How awesome would the Big East be if Pitt would just hire Mike Leach and UConn hired Rich Rodriguez. It would be a three-way race (with Holgorsen at West Virginia) to see who could put 100 points on Villanova.

Also, for what it’s worth, my “sources” tell me that West Virginia defensive coordinator Jeff Casteel has been offered the same job at Vanderbilt. Apparently another blog is saying they hear the same thing. With the shakeups going on at WVU, it seems completely up in the air whether Casteel would stay or go. West Virginia, you may remember, had the best defense in the Big East this season and one of the top 10 defenses in the country. I don’t have links or stats to back either of those statements up, but I’m pretty sure they’re true.
